Cross on the upper left signifies Betty's christian beliefs, Scales of Justice on the right pays tribute to Betty's 48 years in the Law profession as a Law Clerk with Donnelly & Murphy Law firm in Goderich, Ontario. The ink bottle and quills signify the writting down of laws by the legal profession since the beginning of time. "Per Ardua ad Astra" (through adversity to the stars) signifies Betty's hard work and difficulties in her life leading to her reward in Heaven. Headstone was designed and purchased by Betty's brother Peter in thanksgiving for all the blessings Betty gave to Peter in her lifetime and afterwards.
